2018-12 Yamaha FX Waverunner Cup Holder Mount for RAM 2-1/2” OD ball base PWC Jet Ski

This mounting plate is made from heavy duty 3/4″ thick black marine grade UV stabilized plastic and has a black matte textured finish. It has a round pilot machined on the bottom side. The pilot engages the dash cup holder hole and is meant to make installation easy by centering the adapter plate about the Waverunner factory hole.

There is an offset 1-1/8″ hole machined through the plate to allow cables to feed up through from the bottom. There is also a recessed round pocket centered in the top face for seating the RAM ball. The recessed pocket is sized to accommodate a round 2-1/2″ RAM aluminum ball base having a universal AMPS 4 hole pattern (RAM-D-254U D sized 2-1/4″ ball, RAM-202U C sized 1-1/2″ ball, RAM-B-202U B sized 1″ ball). This cup holder RAM adapter plate is very low profile and stands 3/8″ above the dash. The RAM ball base fits in the recessed pocket and will fit flush across the top. Please note the composite RAM ball bases are slightly larger in diameter than the aluminum base. The composite base will not fit inside the pocket.

The adapter plate is held onto the FX dash by (6) equally spaced 1/4-20 button head cap screws as pictured. It fits inside a 3-11/16″ diameter Yamaha cup hole. Installation requires removal of the right sided Waverunner dash panel and then drilling 6 holes through the dash around the cup holder. These drilled holes are easily located by placing the pilot of cup holder mount inside the dash hole and aligning the outer button head screw holes with the side panel. Then it’s just a matter of taping the adapter plate to the dash and using the cup holder plate as a drilling template to locate and drill the holes. Removing the side panel is very easy. It only takes a few minutes to take it off and a few more minutes to put it back on. Removing the side panel will make easy work of tightening the fasteners and routing your sonar cables.

This cup holder mounting plate is very strong and is designed to be used with a RAM Ball. It is well suited for holding a GoPro, large GPS/sonar fish finders ranging in size up to a large 9″, or any other device having a RAM Mounting ball.

Using a short RAM coupler arm is recommended.

Please Note: An optional under dash backing ring is available for this mount. The button head screws and large stainless under dash washers provided in this kit work VERY well. However, a few people have inquired about a backing plate. While It isn’t necessary on smaller devices, it is highly recommended for 7-9″ chartplotters.
